Waitress was really inappropriate.. horrible service

The service wasn’t anywhere near good. All of our food came out cold the steak had a great flavor but you could put it on the gas heater they had heating the place and get it hotter than it was.I WON’T BE BACK!!!

Well worth the drive. The food is absolutely wonderful and the service is the best. A fun place to take your friends and family.

Pricey but food good

have never been but from the review sounds like they are way over priced for a steak that is half fat. was thinking of trying it but don't think i will drive 200 miles just to see some animal and a river.

Very pleasant out door deck for dining. Tropical plants and features abound. Deck area has seating for approximately 30 or 40 people without being crowded. I sat outside on a late Friday afternoon overlooking the river, which was actually more like a pond. The inside area is a converted barn area and more typical of your low light steak house decor. I found the menu rather odd in that there are only 3 steak choices-one in the low 20's and two in the mid 30's . Or a ground steak w Brown sauce or a hamburger. There's more variety in seafood. Complimentary

Wonderful food, with a great country setting!

I wish I could rate this place -stars. First it was cold where they sat us. They put a two tables together because there was 6 of us one of the tables rocked so bad the food kept sliding around. Our food took 1hr and 12 mins to come out and we had catfish filets and 1 hamburger steak the food was luke warm and bland. As we finished our food I noticed something moving and there was a mouse about 3inches big running under a table that was empty across from us. We brought it to the waitress attention she just said it’s because it’s cold outside. Once we get our check and go up to the register to pay it was all on one no one had told us their internet was down so they couldn’t take the credit card and lucky we were able to scarp up the $116 bill. We will never be coming back and will be letting everyone know about our terrible experience while we were there a table left because they had sat there for 30 min and never got a server. They weren’t busy at all!!!

Absolutely wonderful!!! Awesome food and great service!! Very unique atmosphere and great play area where you can sit on the river and watch your little ones play!! Definitely a hidden jewel!!!!

Wait staff was obviously under staffed. Took over 2 hours to get our food and pay out. BBQ shrimp was the worst! Steamed shrimp with some BBQ sauce poured over them. They ran out of baked potatoes. Who runs out of baked potatoes!?!?! We were some of the first customer s there for the evening and almost the last to leave.

Waited 30 minutes to be seated. Then waiting 45 minutes for my salad and still have not received my complimentary hushpuppies. Waitress was rude and not very helpful. I wI'll definitely not be recommending Cowboy Jims to my family and friends!!!

I ordered the BBQ grilled shrimp and when I got it it seemed as if it were boiled shrimp with BBQ sauce mixed up in it. The menu stated jumbo but they were small...not very tasty. My friend and I both had cold potatoes. When the waitress brought another it was the same. The restaurant was cold and we had to keep our jackets on since they had forgot to cut the one wall heater on in the room we we're in til later after opening. The staff did not clean the tables AT ALL so our dishes just piled up on the table. They seemed to only clean tables if they were needed. No one wants to sit down to dinner and look around at dirty tables everywhere! They never cleaned one table while we were there. They don't accept credit cards as well due to the phone service in the area. The staff was nice but will not be going back.

Great steak and fish!

Took 10 minutes to be seated when there were many open tables and hardly any customers. Waited 20 minutes for the waitress to show up and take drink orders. Asked what we wanted to eat and we ordered steaks. Woops, we dont have any steaks right now. That would have been nice to know 30 minutes ago when we walked in. Ordered pork chops. Waited another 30 minutes for food to arrive. The waitress dropped butter sauce on my wife because she practically threw the plate on the table. Then took her 5 minutes to bring something to clean it up with. Ruined her pants. The pork chops were cold and the fries were so soggy they just fell apart. We had to just get up and leave. Never seen anything like it in my life. Crazy this place is still in buisness.

Love this place! Decor is great, love the deck over the river and the flowers. Service is usually very good and love the food! Very much worth the drive. BBQ shrimp is my favorite, but steaks are also very good. Fried green tomatoes as an appetizer can't be missed! Even the crab on the salads is such a nice touch.

The food was great and our meals even came with homemade icecream.

The service was slow due to lack of staffing. The service we did get was good, however it was very noticeable that our server was frustrated. She did not release any of her uncomforts on our group which showed alot of character in her part. The food is okay. The decor is fitting for its location.

I will never go back here again. They were out of turnips, crackers and steaks. A place known for their steaks and they are out on a Friday night. Then I ordered a hamburger steak and it came out red. I sent it back. The table next to us complained and was told “okay we have two steaks left what kind do you want” he said “well if you only have two then what kind are they” she said “I only work here I don’t cut the steaks.” Hello if you only have two there’s not much of a choice. We were not the only ones complaining. The poor cashier was tired of all the complaints from everyone and just gave us the meal free. We use to love this place, I don’t know what’s happened but I highly suspect the doors won’t be open much longer with this kind of business.

I went with a group of 15 people. About half ordered steak and half seafood. Seafood was very good. Steak was under cooked. People were sending back the steak. Steak also had too much fat. The atmosphere was very unique. Service was good. You must pay with cash; they do not take credit or debit cards.

It's actually really sad that this place has gone completely downhill from a couple years ago. I remember coming here and enjoying the entertainment, great food, and great service. Now, they have gotten rid of performers and even music in general. The service was mediocre, and the food was horrible. I ordered the "crabcakes", which probably had no crab, and French fries. It tasted disgusting. The fries had no flavor, and fell apart when I picked them up. The crabcakes made me want to vomit, they were severely overcooked, and tasted like they had used the same grease in the frier for all the other meals. I barely even finished the food, which was ridiculous for what I had to pay for it. The food was WAY too expensive for its quality, and I will never come here again.

Atmosphere was great. Food was great. Didn't care for wasitress.

My wife and son and one of my co-workers and his family all met there for dinner. We sat outside on the deck overlooking the Bouie river. That was worth the visit itself. We saw all kind of critters outside and even on the deck. The service was excellent and I think we all ordered steaks. These were by far some of the best ribeye steaks we have ever had. Everything was cooked to order and we were very satisfied. I recommend Cowboy Jim's as a unique and worthwhile place to visit and eat.

This place is very unique. There are chickens and ducks out front. Country decor inside. Food is delicious!

Kathy had a wonderful dinner in memory of Cowboy Jim. Friends and family were there to honor him. Cowboy will certainly be missed!

I'd rate this place lower if possible. The steak is fatty low quality and rarely cooked right. The sides are mediocre attempts at home cooking and don't you dare ask to make a change or correct your order even if it's their mistske- the owner is a self absorbed conceited hard to deal with person and is convinced her food is the best in 3 counties. You're better off at a steak chain and will spend a quarter the price, avoid the dead animals on the dirt road, and have a better meal

Does Cowboy Jim's have crap legs? And Boiled shrimp??

Great food. Good service. I can take awhile to get seated but there is plenty to do outside while you wait

waited for 45 minutes for seating...someone else called in and walked in took our seats.so when you go call before you go..then walk in and take someones seat...easy to do.we won't be back as we talked with the owner and they acted like they could care less..even unfriended us on face book.no problems other than that.

I've been to Cowboy Jim's several times with my wife and with my church and with a few friends and everytime it was a great experience. It's such a nice and peaceful location and the service was top notch.

Pretty good food, good service, nice live music....but remember to take cash as THEY DONT TAKE CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS!!!!
